AAC blocks or Autoclaved Aerated Concrete blocks, one of lightweight building material, made up of sand, calcined gypsum, lime, water, aluminium powder and cement which is heated under pressure in autoclave. These blocks are used for both interior and exterior construction.
The most common building material used in masonry work is Bricks. Among different types of bricks, Red bricks are often used. Red bricks are rectangular type of building material used in masonry work manufactured by using ingredients such as sand and clay having properties of lime, alumina, silica and iron oxide. It is mainly used for building walls and some other elements also.
Fly-ash bricks are substitute of the residue that is emitted from thermal plant stations. In thermal plant station, the coal is burnt to ' produce heat energy and this heat energy is converted into electric power. The residue which is produced during combustion of coal comprises of fine particles that rise with the flue gases and it is called as fly-ash. Fly- ash contains trace amount of toxic metals such as mercury, arsenic, antimony, chromium, selenium, lead, cadmium, nickel, and zinc.
